Projects

  • The goal of the "Eco Chance" project was to develop innovative models for the employment of young people from vulnerable groups in the agricultural sector in Pirot with the involvement of the civil, private and public sectors.

  • We organized the book promotion and lecture by Dr. Ivana Pantelić, 'Partisans as Citizens,' in the reading room of the Pirot National Library to mark March—Women's History Month.

  • Through various activities, media campaigns, and public actions, the Mome Center observes the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

  • With the goal of strengthening the community, in 2016 we launched the project 'Spring School of Friendship', which brought together children with developmental disabilities aged 6 to 10 and their peers from the general population, parents, experts, and enthusiasts around workshops whose central theme was socializing with a dog, man's best friend.

  • This project successfully brought together more than 30 young people from Pirot who, through workshops on inclusion, developed the knowledge and skills needed to create media content on this topic.

  • As part of this project, a documentary film was created that brings the stories of women from Stara Planina who fought for years for the preservation of rivers and against the construction of mini-hydroelectric plants.

  • On our YouTube page, we have presented a collection of 14 women's stories from Stara Planina, translated and adapted for an international audience in English. These stories illuminate the daily lives of women living in one of the most patriarchal and isolated regions of Europe.

  • The citizens' association "Ternipe" in partnership with the Center for Local Community Support "Mome" implemented a project called "Village women of Pirot in the fight for the development of villages and agriculture", with the aim of encouraging greater involvement of women from the villages of Pirot in agriculture and rural development and supporting their active participation in the creation of policies that will contribute to economic empowerment and gender equality in rural areas.

  • As part of the documentary "Women and Patriarchy: Stories from Stara Planina", ten women from remote Stara Planina villages shared their personal, poignant stories about life in deeply patriarchal communities.

  • "Club of Solidarity Women Pirot" has become a safe space for meeting, support and joint action of women from different vulnerable groups and functions as an open place for education, exchange of experiences and mutual empowerment.
